An Air India passenger aircraft going from Ahmedabad crashed a few moments after the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft had 242 passengers and crew members. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also died in this accident. Among the passengers aboard the aircraft were 169 Indian citizens, 53 British, seven Portuguese and one Canadian citizen. Ramesh Vishwas, a British citizen of Indian origin, is alive in this accident. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The BCCI said that, the players involved in the Intra-Squad match in Bekenham have landed in the field by tying a black band on the feudal arm of the staff. The statement said that a minute’s silence was also kept for paying tribute to the victims of Ahmedabad aircraft accident.
Members who visited England including head coach Gautam Gambhir, Test captain Shubman Gill and veteran players KL Rahul and Rahul Jadeja have expressed their pain over the accident in social media posts on Thursday.
