Josh Marden, head pitch curator of Bekenham County Ground, has made a big disclosure about Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and team management. In fact, Josh Marden has reported that the head coach Gambhir and the management had given him a message regarding the preparations for the much awaited tour of England that he needed a good pitch. The Indian team is currently preparing for the five -match Test series starting from June 20 in England.
Team India has organized a training camp at Bekenham, South East London, where they are strengthening their preparations for the first bilateral Test series without their batting veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, which is starting a new era.According to the report of Revspports, the pitch curator for training has been asked by the Indian team to prepare a good pitch.
Marden said that, yes Gautam Gambhir and other coaching staff talked to us after their internal meeting. His message was clear that we need a good pitch. Not very flat or too green, but who really help in the preparation of the match. He wanted more realistic conditions and not only batting practice. So we adjusted some things. The grass cover, the width of the net and the expansion of the latte. The feedback has been good since then.
The pitch curator further stated that, the soil here is naturally favorable to the batsmen, so the wicket may look dry or flat but we manage the grass’s density. The currently used by India and Australia has a slightly more grass than our normal white ball surfaces. This is a subtle balance. Even with the brown surface, if you put a ball at the right length, it has enough life for fast bowlers.
