England won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening pair of Jack Croly and Ben Docket for England added 43 runs for the first wicket for England. Nitish Kumar Reddy broke the partnership in his first over by dismissing Ben Docket. After this, Reddy once again presented a sample of the best bowling and gave India a double success on the same side by Pant on the last ball of the same over.
