The problems of Harcharan Singh Bhullar, the former DIG of Punjab Police, who was arrested in a bribery case, are increasing. The CBI has now registered another case of disproportionate assets against Bhullar. Bhullar was arrested on October 16 in a bribery case and is currently lodged in Chandigarh’s Model Burail Jail. Apart from the corruption case, this is the second case registered against Bhullar.
The middleman Krishna Sharda, who was earlier arrested in the bribery case related to former DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, was produced in a special CBI court today, where he was sent on nine-day remand.
Punjab Police Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar was arrested by the CBI Chandigarh on October 16 for accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh from a scrap dealer in Mohali. Eight teams of CBI Chandigarh raided seven places in connection with the case, including Ambala, Mohali, Chandigarh and Ropar. CBI searched DIG Bhullar’s office, house, farmhouse and other places.

The CBI team continued to investigate the bribery case at his Mohali complex office and house number 1489 in Sector 40, Chandigarh since morning. The CBI also arrested Bhullar’s middleman, Krishna, who, on the DIG’s behest, went to the scrap dealer every month to collect bribes in return for not taking action on the FIR registered against him.
