The Income Tax Department has raided Design Boxed, a company that conducts election management and digital marketing in Assam and other states for the country’s main opposition Congress. Income tax officials Chandigarh, Mohali, Surat and Seven places in Bangalore have been searched. Apart from this, the hotel room of the MD of the company has also been searched.
A statement issued by the Income Tax Department said that a number of criminal documents were recovered during the raid, including evidence of unaccounted income and transfer of assets. According to the department, the documents recovered from the raids also found that the personal expenses of the directors of the company were also recorded as business expenses of the company.
