Dr Inderbir Nijjar: Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijhar on Saturday announced various road reconstruction and park renovation projects worth around Rs. inaugurated
These projects include reconstruction of road from Haibowal main bridge (bridge over old canal) to railway line at a cost of Rs.1.58 crore, recently about Rs. This includes inaugurating five parks built at a cost of Rs. Along with this, reconstruction of the road in Qila Mohalla near San Jain Public School is also included at a cost of Rs 77 lakh.
Along with Ludhiana North Constituency MLA Madan Lal Baga and Ludhiana Central Constituency MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi, Minister Dr Nijjar said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led state government is working to boost infrastructure across the city. . Accordingly, projects worth crores of rupees are being implemented in Ludhiana city as well.
Minister Dr Nijjar praised MLA Bagga and others for naming one of the recently renovated parks after Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh.
Dr Nijjar further informed that the officials have been instructed to complete the work within the stipulated time and ensure that there is no compromise in the quality of the development works. Dr Nijjar said that many development projects are being implemented in the city with the aim of providing better infrastructure and facilities to the people at the ground level.
On this occasion, Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Ludhiana South MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Sahnewal MLA Hardeep Singh Mundian, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Sneha Agarwal, Ludhiana Improvement Trust (Lit) Chairman Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Councilor Rakesh Parashar etc. were also present.
Cabinet Ministers Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijhar and Brahm Shankar Jimpa also participated in the yatra of Lord Balaji held in the old city areas on Saturday.
Dr. Nijjar praised Municipal Corporation Ludhiana for exemplary and highest collection of property tax till now.
Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar appreciated Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Sneha Agarwal for the record breaking recovery of property tax by Municipal Corporation Ludhiana during the financial year (2022-23).
Against the annual recovery target of Rs 100 crore, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has recovered around Rs 125 crore during the financial year 2022-23. This is the highest ever collection of tax in a particular financial year since the government introduced the tax in the year 2013-14.
Dr Nijjar said that these funds are used for development works and providing basic facilities to the people.
