Even before this, Palaniswami had dismissed the allegations that the BJP would dominate AIADMK in the alliance. He said that no party, no matter how big it is, cannot dominate it. AIADMK has ruled Tamil Nadu for more than 30 years. Palaniswami also said that if the alliance wins the 2026 assembly elections, no coalition government will be formed in Tamil Nadu and this agreement is only for elections. This happened when Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that BJP and AIADMK will form the government together. Although Shah has said that the Chief Ministerial candidate will be from AIADMK, but he did not name Palaniswami.
