In Bareilly, the clerk of the Electricity Department arrested taking a bribe of 20 thousand rupees

The team of Prevention of Corruption Organization (ACO) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday arrested the clerk Ajit Kumar posted in the Chief Engineer Office premises of the Electricity Department taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. Police gave this information.

Inspector Ishtiaq Warsi, in -charge of the ACO team, said that in addition to arresting the bribe, an amount of Rs 1.76 lakh has also been recovered in the search of the bag of the accused, no valid source of which the accused could tell.

He said that the team reached the office of Executive Engineer (First) at 3:30 pm on Saturday, where accused Babu Ajit Kumar was taking a bribe of twenty thousand rupees.

Warsi told, “The team nabbed him on the spot and then took him to Kotwali and questioned him.” The police later also searched the accused’s residence and office. 1.76 lakh rupees have also been seized from Ajit’s bag. ‘

The ACO team suspects that this amount may also be of bribe. The police have registered a case against the accused under the sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and further legal action is being taken.
