In Ichauli area of Meerut district, the police on Wednesday raided an illegal factory manufacturing illicit and adulterated liquor and arrested six accused and recovered a large quantity of spurious liquor, packing material and liquor making equipment. A senior officer gave this information.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar told reporters that the police had received information from an informer that spurious liquor was being prepared on a large scale in view of the upcoming Panchayat elections in a warehouse of mutilated clothes at the Samaspur Marg intersection near Lavad town.
He said that immediately after receiving the information, the police team raided the spot and caught the accused Yash alias Kaluva, Ankit, Yasin, Anas, Tarun alias Mama and Dinesh red handed.
According to Kumar, two big drums and four cans, about 1,000 empty plastic pavvas, tubes for storing adulterated liquor and urea fertiliser, caps of bottles of a reputed brand, fake wrappers and 31 QR codes, empty bottles and vehicles used in supply have been recovered from the possession of the accused. He said that many of the arrested accused already have cases registered against them under serious sections including murder, fraud, Excise Act and copyright violation.
