This video of MNS worker and bank manager’s clash is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
Amid growing language disputes in the country, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has intensified its demand to make Marathi mandatory in all banks of the state.
On Wednesday, the dispute in Mumbai intensified when the MNS workers entered a bank and started pressurizing the manager to talk in Marathi.
The activists accused the manager of not talking in Marathi while talking to customers. The video of this clash is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
In the video, the workers can be heard saying that if you want to do a job here, then you have to learn Marathi.
However, the bank manager said that the bank can use any official communication language acceptable in the country for its work.

In the viral video, the workers were seen beating the table, pushing the computer and shouting at the manager and demanding to talk in Marathi.

The local unit of Raj Thackeray -led party has confirmed its members to join the incident.
However, it is not yet clear whether a police complaint has been lodged in relation to this dispute.
This aggressive stance comes after MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s speech at Gudi Padwa rally. Where he reiterated his party’s stance to make Marathi mandatory for official purposes.
Earlier, a security guard working in Mumbai was beaten up by MNS activists for not speaking Marathi.
A video of the incident went viral in which the activists were seen beating the security guard in Powai, Mumbai.

MNS workers gave flowers and stones to bank officials
On Tuesday, MNS workers visited Yes Bank as part of their protests. The activists handed over flowers and stones to the bank officials.
This was a sign of reminding of their demand and warning. The party has announced that similar demonstrations will be held in all banks from today.
Along with this, the student delegation led by Sandeep Pachge, General Secretary of MNS Student Wing, has met the Education Officer in the Zilla Parishad.
The wing submitted a memorandum demanding strict action against the English medium schools preventing students from speaking Marathi.
This is not the first time MNS has taken an aggressive stance on the issue of Marathi language.

MNS has also protested before
In 2006, Raj Thackeray separated from the Shiv Sena and formed a party, then one of his major agenda was to advocate the rights of “Marathi Manush” (Marathi).
In the initial campaigns, shopkeepers were pressurized to write their names in Marathi. Due to which violent protests took place and legal cases were registered against party workers.
In 2007-08, MNS activists attacked candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who came to Mumbai for railway recruitment examination. He argued that local youth should be given priority in jobs in Maharashtra. These incidents caused resentment across the country and the leaders of all parties condemned the antics of MNS.
MNS has pressurized multiplex to allocate screen for Marathi films. The party has warned that if Marathi cinema is sidelined, it will have to bear the consequences.
Marathi vote bank big factor
The MNS has to struggle to maintain a political hold. In the 2009 Maharashtra assembly elections, the party won 13 seats, mainly by Marathi voters.
However, its vote share declined due to the increasing influence of rival parties such as various factions of BJP and Shiv Sena in later elections.
