Big things about Justice Gawai’s address …

  • Our Manipur Yatra was not only for paying tribute to one of the country’s most respected national heroes, but also to visit one of the most beautiful land in the country. We are celebrating 75 years of adopting the constitution.
  • When we compare India to our neighboring countries, we realize that our constitution has kept us strong and united. Like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh or Jammu and Kashmir are part of India, Manipur and other seven sisters are also part of this country. We try for the unity of the country.
  • I and my colleagues had decided that during their visit to Manipur, they would talk to those who have been suffering due to struggle for the last two years. We visited relief camps in Churachandpur and Bishnupur and interacted with the people of both communities (Maetai-Kuki).
