NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule on Thursday expressed surprise at the central government’s stand on the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match and asked how the blood and the ball could come together if the blood and water could not flow together. Supriya Sule told reporters that I am shocked by the government’s stand on the India-Pakistan match. On one hand, they say ‘blood and water cannot flow together’, so how is this match happening? If blood and water cannot flow together, how can bat and ball come together?

Sule spoke on the issue of Sanjay Raut’s opposition to India vs Pakistan match and said that he was not aware of the matter. Sule said that I do not know whether Sanjay Raut and Shiv Sena UBT are going to protest any protest. I will talk to the members of the coalition. India and Pakistan will face face to face in the Asia Cup 2025 match on 14 September. This match has created anger among opposition parties in India as they are questioning the government for playing against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Earlier, the Shiv Sena (UBT) had announced to oppose the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match to be held in the Asia Cup 2025. Party MP Sanjay Raut called the decision to play against the neighboring country as treason and shameless. Talking to reporters, Raut said, “We will oppose this India-Pakistan cricket match. Women will take to the streets and our campaign is ‘vermilion defense campaign’. You said that water and blood will not flow together. If water and blood do not flow together, how will blood and cricket run together? It is treason, shameless.”

The Shiv Sena UBT MP questioned the role of the Sangh Parivar in allowing the match to happen and said that they should give priority to national sentiments more than sports. He also raised the question that when the pain, sorrow and anger of the families of Pahalgam victims still remain, how can the government allow a cricket match with Pakistan.
