The ICC has released the latest ranking of Test Players on Wednesday. Under this ranking, England batsman Joe Root has taken away the reign from his compatriot Harry Brook. Root has again become the number-1 Test batsman. He currently has 888 rating points in his account. He scored 40 runs in addition to scoring a century in Lord’s Test against India. Brook overtook Root last week but has now slipped to third place after a poor performance in Lord’s. He has 862 points. On the other hand, New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson is at number two.
At the same time, three Indian batsmen, including captain Shubman Gill, have suffered losses. Gill has rolled three places to 9th. He has 765 points. Gill scored a total of 22 runs in the third Test played at Lord’s. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (801) and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant (779) suffered a loss of one position each. Could score just 13 runs in a famous match. His account was not opened in his second innings. Pant had scored 74 runs in the first innings but returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs in the second innings. India suffered a close defeat by 22 runs at Lord’s after which England are ahead 2–1 in the five-Test series.
Nitish Kumar Reddy benefited
However, Nitish Kumar Reddy of Team India has benefited. All -rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy could not manage to make any special contribution with the bat in the Lord’s Test, but he has definitely played an important role in bowling.
In this ranking, Nitish Kumar Reddy has jumped 25 places directly. He has now reached number 62 directly with 65 ranking points in the ICC Test all -rounder rankings. At the same time, England fast bowler Bridan Cars has also managed to improve his ranking. He has now jointly reached number 26 with a jump of 14 places in the all -rounder rankings.
While Ravindra Jadeja of Team India is still intact in the first place. Jadeja is currently number one with 409 rating points.
