US President Donald Trump said that he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska next Friday to discuss the end of the Ukraine War. It is expected that this meeting can lead to positive conclusions. However, for the last few weeks, Trump is expressing disappointment that there is not much effort to stop the struggle.
No confirmation has been made by Russia about this possible meeting yet. But both countries have indicated the meeting next week. Describing this possible meeting with Putin as a “much awaited meeting”, Trump said in a post on social media that the meeting will be held in Alaska on August 15.
He said that more information will be given later. Earlier, Trump said on Friday that any agreement may probably be involved in “exchange of some areas”, but he did not give any information about it.
Some analysts, including people close to Kremlin, believe that Russia may propose to leave areas that are outside the four areas they have already claimed to be merged into their country.
