Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah married in 1982. Recently Ratna Pathak Shah talked about her marriage. He said that his family was against this relationship, while Naseeruddin Shah’s family never demanded him to change religion.
In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Ratna Pathak Shah said that when he married Naseeruddin Shah, his in -laws never pressured him to change religion. As I am, they have adopted me the same. My mother -in -law was quite traditional, but her views were very open.

Ratna said, ‘My father was against this marriage. He did not want me and Naseeruddin to get married. But he died before marriage. I think if he had been alive, he would have agreed later, because by then Naseeruddin had succeeded in his career. The father only worries that the daughter’s future is safe. At that time I did not earn anything myself.
There was a lot of problems between my mother and Naseeruddin in the beginning. Their relationship was always full of ups and downs. But over time, the relationship between the two also became stronger. Gradually he became good friends.
Naseer was already married
Naseer Saheb was first married to Parveen Murad (Manara Sikri). During that time Naseer was 19-20 and Parveen was 36 years old. A year after the wedding, Jodi’s daughter Heiba Shah was born. Soon Parveen and Naseer separated and Hiba went to Iran with mother.

Marriage to Ratna, 13 years younger
Naseer and Ratna came closer after a few years of separation from Parveen. Unlike Big Fet Wedding, this couple married in a very simple way. In 1982, the pair had a registered marriage in the presence of close ones at Ratna’s mother Dina Pathak’s house. Shortly after marriage, Naseer’s first wife’s daughter Heeba also started living with her. Heeba was raised with both sons Imad and Vivaan of Naseer-Ratna.
