On the I Love Muhammad slogan, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that I think some people are using faith and identity as hostage for chaos. It is unacceptable to use identity and faith as an chaos tools. Naqvi clarified that as a Muslim, Mohammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is part of his faith and it is wrong to host faith or Asmita in any way. He said that faith and identity cannot be affected through chaos or hypocrisy.

Significantly, communal tension spread in Davangere city of Karnataka on the night of 24 September after the posters of ‘I Love Mohammed’ surfaced, causing stone pelting between two groups of people. Due to the incident of Carl Marx Nagar, there was a tension between the members of two communities for removing the poster. According to Davangere Superintendent of Police Uma Prashant, the police immediately reached the spot and overcame the situation within five minutes. He told reporters that the banner written I Love Muhammadia was installed in Carl Marx Nagar. The other community demanded the removal of it.
