According to the police, accused Bitish Hajong used a sharp weapon to cut the head of his wife Baijanti and took the severed head in his bicycle storage basket.
The accused is a daily wage laborer. He told the police that there were quarrels between him and his wife, due to which he killed the wife.
A neighbor said that the two had a lot of quarrel after Bitish Hajong returned home from work on Saturday night. Both used to fight every day on small things.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Chirang Rashmi Rekha Sharma said, ‘We have taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem. Forensic experts have collected samples. The accused husband has been taken into custody and further investigation is on.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
