There was an important evidence to prove that Prajwal Revanna was the accused, as his DNA samples matched the semen found on the victim’s sari. According to investigators, after rape, Prajwal took the victim’s sari, which had physical evidence. Instead of destroying the sari, the prajwal allegedly hid her into the attic of her farmhouse, thinking that it will never be found or will be found. However, this decision proved to be a serious lapse. During the investigation of the case, when the authorities asked the victim what she was wearing at the time of the attack, she told that Prajwal never returned her sari, and she could still be in the farmhouse.
