Keaton’s family shared the news in a statement to People magazine, saying they were grateful for the widespread messages of support they have received in recent days.
“The Keaton family is deeply grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received over the past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who died of pneumonia on October 11,” her family said.
Keaton was born in Los Angeles in 1946 and was known for her honesty and originality on screen. She was praised for her roles in films like ‘The First Wives Club’, ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ and ‘Baby Boom’. Many praised her independence and authenticity, qualities that have inspired audiences over the years.
