The official said that Bihar’s Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni has been made the chairman of this 28 -member committee. Bandana Priyashi, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “The department has formed the ‘Bihar State Kinnar Welfare Board’ with the aim of protecting the rights of the transgender community and taking steps for their social development and empowerment. Seven members in this board belong to the transgender community. ”

He said that the board will implement the steps related to social development of the transgender community and keep an eye on them. The priest said that the state government also wants to provide education and vocational training to the transgender community for respectful and regular employment. He said, “This will also improve his socio-economic situation.” He said, “The government is trying to provide him with an atmosphere where they feel safe and can lead a respectable life like other citizens of the country.
