The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday dismissed the petition requested to ban the release of ‘Jolly LLB 3’, stating that the trailer had no objectionable material against the lawyers.
The order was passed by a bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh on the plea of Jai Vardhan Shukla. The court dismissed the objections raised in the petition, saying, “We have seen three official trailers/teasers of the film. There is nothing objectionable in them, which requires the intervention of the court.
The court also said that the lyrics of a song ‘Bhai Vikal Hai’ of the film were also seen in which nothing was found against the lawyers or tarnishes their image.
It was argued by the petitioner that the trailer and songs of the film are airing extensively on YouTube and social media, causing damage to the image of the advocates and affecting the dignity of the judiciary.
The petition also said that the negative image of lawyers was also presented in the previous links of the film, which is disenchanted with this profession and the method is causing disillusionment among the students.
At the same time, Deputy Solicitor General S.K. B. Pandey argued that the petition was not considered as the petitioner did not give any report to any competent authority against the film, and directly filed this petition.
