Deepti achieved a historic feat in the final match. She became the first player, whether a male or female cricketer, to score a half-century and take five wickets in any World Cup knockout match. 28-year-old Deepti, who hails from Agra, told PTI after the match that this is the most special moment of her career. He said, “My aim from the very first match was to contribute to the team in every possible way as a senior player. To perform like this in the final and lift the trophy, nothing can be better than this.” Talking about this victory that came for the country after a long time, he said, “We waited for many years, but what God has written happens. Perhaps this victory was to happen on Indian soil only.”
