Arrest under ‘Operation Ganjane’

The ATS and ANTF launched an intensive campaign called ‘Operation Ganjane’ to catch Bajrang. Senior police officer Vikas Kumar said that the arrest of a skilled worker like Bajrang is an important achievement in neutralizing the nexus of terrorism-contacts in Rajasthan ‘.

Travel from national hero to become leader

Bajrang with a background of wrestling left his studies to join BSF. During his service, he was selected in NSG, where he spent seven years in anti-terrorism operations, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

After retiring in 2021, he stepped into local politics, but failed. The unsuccessful ambitions and unquenchable greed pushed him into the marshy world of illegal activities.

According to police sources, Bajrang was very cautious and used to change the hideout to avoid being caught and rarely used mobile phones. He used the new contacts and effects found after retirement to start smuggling hemp on a large scale and forming with criminal groups in many states. Officials believe that this arrest will help in demolishing the smuggling network in Rajasthan.
