A 22-year-old law student’s stomach was torn open, two of his fingers were cut off and his head was also broken in a shocking attack in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. Police said on Sunday that first year LLB student Abhijit Singh Chandel was attacked with a knife over a dispute over the price of medicine. Police said that Chandel, a student of Kanpur University and resident of Keshavpuram, had gone to a medicine shop near his house, where he had an argument with the shop owner Amar Singh Chauhan over the price of the medicine.

Law student beheaded over money dispute in Uttar Pradesh
Abhijeet, a first year LLB student at Kanpur University, had gone to a medical store to buy medicine at around 9 pm on Saturday night. What should have been a routine task turned into a terrifying experience when a heated argument broke out with shop owner Amar Singh, allegedly over payment.The situation went out of control when Amar’s brother Vijay Singh and his associates Prince Raj Srivastava and Nikhil also clashed.
Knife attack, stomach burst
Police said that the accused attacked the student on his head and stomach, due to which he was seriously injured. After this, they tore his stomach with a knife and cut off two of his fingers during the incident. It is being told that the blood soaked student fell on the road, while the local people ran to help him and the attackers fled from the spot.As soon as the news was received, panicked family members tied his intestines with a cloth and took him to four different hospitals. An official told PTI that four hospitals refused to admit him due to his critical condition, after which he was finally taken to the Regency Hospital, where doctors conducted a two-hour surgery. Police said that Chandel had 14 stitches on his head.

Eyewitnesses say that the attackers repeatedly attacked Abhijeet with a knife, causing injuries to his head and stomach. His intestines came out from the wound and two of his fingers were cut off. Blood soaked Abhijeet fell on the road, while the attackers fled from the spot.
Allegations of being connected to the police
Abhijeet’s mother, Neelam Singh Chandel, alleged that the attackers had police protection and had filed a false case of extortion and robbery against her injured son to divert attention. He also claimed that one of the accused, Prince Raj Srivastava, has a criminal record and faces charges of extortion and land grabbing at Kakadev police station.

ACP Ranjit Kumar confirmed that cases have been registered against both the parties. “An FIR was registered based on the initial complaint and later we also received a report from the other party. Both the complaints are being investigated and action will be taken accordingly,” he said.
