The Punjab and Haryana High Court will hear the petition of Manisha Gulati, the former chairperson of the Punjab State Commission for Women, today. Manisha Gulati has challenged the Punjab government’s decision to terminate her tenure six months early in the High Court.

The High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Punjab government and ordered it to respond to Manisha Gulati’s petition. The High Court adjourned the hearing till Wednesday after the government sought time for reply. The important thing is that these orders were issued by the Department of Women Protection and Child Development.

Then in the year 2020, his tenure was extended for three years. After this, on 20 February 2022, she also joined the BJP but remained in her post.
