Professors of Harvard University, USA have filed a Federal District Court case of Massachusetts against the administration of President Donald Trump.
Two groups of professors have registered this case against the threat to stop the university fund. The Trump administration is reviewing the $ 9 billion funds to Harvard University.
Harvard professors have cited that Trump’s decision violates the first amendment (first amendment) of the US Constitution. Professors have alleged that cutting into university funds is a violation of freedom of expression.
The petition filed in the court has also demanded a stay on the decision of the Trump administration.
On Saturday, hundreds of students, professors and Mayor of Cambridge Dennis Simmons demonstrated against the move at Cambridge near Harvard Campus.
Charges on university- failed to stop hatred against Jews
Recently the Trump administration sent a letter to Harvard. In this letter, the university was asked to fulfill certain conditions. Failure to do so was threatened with the university’s federal funding.
The move behind the move claimed that prestigious institutions like Harvard had failed to stop anti-semitism (hatred against Jews). The administration alleged that there was discrimination against Jewish students and professors in the campus.
Funding to the university is very important for search search, student scholarship, and many science and medical projects.
Palestinian flag was hoisted in the university
There were demonstrations in support of Palestine in several Universities in the US last year against the ongoing Israel-Hamas Jung in Gaza. Thousands of students took part in these demonstrations. According to AP report, more than 1000 students were also arrested.
During this time, the Palestinian flag was hoisted by the students at Harvard University. The university had said to take action against the students, calling it against the policy.

The Trump administration took strict measures against Columbia University, canceling a grant of US $ 400 million (about 33 billion rupees). The administration also accused Columbia University of failing to stop the harassment of Jewish students.
The Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism of the US Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services, Department and General Service Administration took this action.
