Continuous monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh continue to havoc, the infrastructure has caused widespread damage and the number of dead has also increased. Till Saturday morning, Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) reported that 374 roads, 524 power transformers and 145 water supply schemes have been disrupted across the state. According to a release, the authority stated that two national highways, NH-305 and NH-05, are included in blocked routes, where landslides and sudden floods, especially in Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur districts, contacts are being interrupted.

Reconstruction work is going on, but officials said that progress is slowing down due to continuous rains and fresh landslides. A total of 257 people have died in this monsoon since June 20. HPSDMA said that 133 of these have gone into rain -related incidents such as landslides, sudden floods and house collapse, while 124 people died in road accidents. Mandi district was reported to have the highest interruption, where 203 roads are blocked and 458 transformers are not functioning, followed by Kullu, where 79 roads are closed, including a large landslide in Jheda (Khanag). Water supply schemes in Chamba (24), Kangra (41), and Mandi (44) were also badly affected.
In Kinnaur, six roads including NH-05 were blocked after heavy rains, while Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti reported extensive disruption due to sudden flood and HT line malfunction. Officials warned that intermittent rains in the coming days could worsen the situation, and appealed people to avoid traveling from sensitive parts. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) said on Friday that since the onset of monsoon on 20 June, Himachal Pradesh has recorded 133 deaths in rain -related incidents and 124 in road accidents.

HPSDMA said that disasters caused by rains such as landslides, sudden floods, cloudbursts, collapse, drowning and electric shock have caused widespread loss of life and property. Mandi district had the highest number of 26 deaths related to rain, followed by Kangra (28), Chamba (10) and Kullu (11). Death took place in Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Lahaul-Spiti, Hamirpur and Una.
