Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh retired from all forms of international cricket on Friday. Harbhajan Singh has announced his retirement through social media site Twitter. With this, his 23-year career has come to an end.
He has led Team India to victory in many matches on his own. Experienced batsmen also piled up in front of Harbhajan’s spin. With the announcement of his retirement from cricket, it is now being discussed whether Harbhajan Singh is going to start his political career. By the way, Harbhajan played his last international match in 2016. He had been out of the team for a long time. But if we look at the timing of Harbhajan’s retirement, it is just before the Punjab Assembly elections. Elections are to be held in Punjab next year and there is talk that Harbhajan Singh may enter the fray.
Recently, there were reports that Harbhajan Singh may contest on a Congress ticket. It was said that the party could remove him from Jalandhar. State Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu had also hinted that Harbhajan Singh might join the Congress party soon. He tweeted a photo with Harbhajan. “A picture with star Harbhajan with possibilities,” Sidhu wrote.

Earlier, there was talk that Harbhajan Singh might join the BJP, but he later dismissed the speculations. Harbhajan had said that there was no truth in reports of his joining the BJP. Harbhajan has categorically denied reports of his joining the BJP but has remained silent on the Congress. Political experts also believe that Harbhajan Singh may join the Congress before the elections. However, no official announcement has been made by the Congress and Harbhajan Singh so far.
