There is great good news for Indian travelers planning to go abroad. A statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism has made a big announcement for those who want to go abroad.
“India is planning to reopen its international borders for scheduled flights soon,” the statement said. The news was shared by India’s Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh at a function organized by the Ministry of Tourism in Delhi.
It may be recalled that like other countries, India had closed its international borders due to the devastating outbreak of the Kovid-19 epidemic. Disclosing this here today, he said that the mood of the government was to reopen the international borders. He said that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Aviation headed by Home Minister Amit Shah were considering resumption of scheduled international flights in the near future.
He said that when it comes to reopening of borders and resumption of scheduled flights, everyone is on the same page. However, the Tourism Secretary further said that it was the Ministry of Home Affairs and Civil Aviation that would announce the date and lay down the required protocols.

It may be recalled that for the record, India had set up an air bubble arrangement with a total of 18 countries and 49 cities till September. Although scheduled passenger flights have been suspended, India is operating special international flights with proper Covid protocol.
