Government targets vehicle sector in five years: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday that the government is working to lead India’s vehicle industry to the top of the world in the next five years. Inaugurating the ‘International Price Summit 2025’, he said that the vehicle sector gives the government the most GST revenue and creates employment opportunities.

The Minister of Road Transport and Highways said, “Our goal is to make India’s vehicle industry top -ranked within five years.” Gadkari said that all the big vehicle companies in the country are present in the country.

He said, “When I took over as Transport Minister, the size of the Indian vehicle industry was Rs 14 lakh crore. Now the size of the Indian vehicle industry is Rs 22 lakh crore. ”

At present, the size of the American vehicle industry is Rs 78 lakh crore. It is followed by China (Rs 47 lakh crore) and India (Rs 22 lakh crore). The minister said that India is the fastest growing economy in the world and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream is to make India the third largest economy.
