Government school education of Punjab has entered a new era: Harjot Bains

Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab government to provide quality school education to the students, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the government school education in the state has entered a new era where besides providing high quality infrastructure in schools, The process of creating a wonderful environment for providing education to children has been started.

Today, during the visit to Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Sohana, the Cabinet Minister said that as per the orders of the Chief Minister, he is visiting the government schools of different districts so that he can get information about the schools himself. He said that as a result of the renovation of government schools by the government, there has been an increase in the enrollment of students in government schools. During the admission campaign this year, many government officials/teachers have also admitted their children in government schools.

He said that the Punjab government has already delivered the books to 80 percent of the government schools in the state before the start of the new academic session and will reach the rest of the schools by April 10. He said that earlier the children did not get books even till September-October due to which their education was damaged. In view of this, our government has delivered books to children before the start of education this year to prevent students from losing their education.
Harjot Singh Bains said that 117 schools of eminence schools have been opened in the state to increase the standard of education. 75 percent students of government schools are being admitted in these schools. He said that for the first time the teachers have been given international level training so that the education system in government schools can be improved on a large scale. S. Harjot Bains further said that last year around 2000 new rooms have been prepared in the schools of the state and 300 new schools have been opened.

He said that excellent furniture will also be provided in schools this year. He assured that students studying in government schools and their parents will soon be very satisfied with the performance of government schools. Government schools today are far ahead of private schools due to the visibility of government schools, use of digital technology for teaching learning, facilities available to students and highly qualified teachers.
He said that in the near future coaches will be provided for various activities/sports along with provision of full staff in the government school. The pace of imparting training to principals from abroad will be increased. Meanwhile, he interacted with the school students and school staff to get feedback. They checked the mid-day meal and also ate with the children. On this occasion, school teachers and other dignitaries were present.
