India is interacting with the US and other stakeholders on making rules for the Trump administration step to impose a $ 100,000 fee for H-1B visas. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday that the dynamics of skilled Indian talents contribute to innovation and economic development in both countries. The new fee was announced by US President Donald Trump as part of measures to prevent misuse of H-1B visa program last week, which is considered “a threat to national security” and to restrict the entry of non-resident workers, it is expected to affect Indian citizens, the number of three times the number.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal cited the notification issued by the US Home Safety Department regarding the proposed changes in the H-1B visa program and said that the industry and other stakeholders have been given a month’s time to make their comments. Following the announcement of new measures, clarification and frequently asked questions were also issued by the US, including confirmation that the new H-1B visa applications would be levied only once a fee of $ 1,00,000.

He said that the Indian side believes that the visit of skilled professionals to America is beneficial for both countries. Jaiswal said, “We have also said earlier that the movement and exchange of skilled talents between India and America has contributed significantly to innovation, money creation, economic development, competition and productivity in both economies.”
