Government cheated with Maratha community, Manoj Jara will sit on hunger strike again from August 29

Reservation activist Manoj Jarage on Tuesday targeted the Maharashtra government and accused the Maratha community of failing to fulfill his promises. Talking to the media in the village Antarwali Sarathi village of Jalna district, Jarang expressed deep disappointment and alleged that the government had betrayed the Maratha community. He warned that if concrete action is not taken, they will start a hunger strike again in Mumbai from August 29. Jarang, who has led several hunger strikes in the past, has continuously demanded that all the Marathas be officially recognized as a clan, an agricultural -oriented caste that falls in the other backward class (OBC) category. He has also demanded reservation for Maratha community in government jobs and educational institutions.

Historical Gazette

He has consistently sought to implement historical records, including Gazettes of Bombay, Satara and Hyderabad, which claims that they classify the Maratha community as a kunbi. Jarange said, the four major demands of the Marathas, which the government had assured to be implemented, has not been fulfilled. The government has once again cheated the community.

Warning of new protest

He warned to strike a hunger strike in Mumbai on August 29 and march to the city. He said, “We have been patience for the last two years. Now the time has come to stand up. I appeal to all the Marathas – do not sit silent. We have to fight for our rights.” He urged the members of the community to prepare to march to Mumbai by covering their farming work in two months.
