No government buses will ply in Punjab today. Punjab Roadways, Panbus, and PRTC Contract Workers Union will block roads across the state today from 12 noon to 2 am. Roadways bus services across Punjab will remain suspended for a few hours. This dharna is being demonstrated by the employees regarding their demands.
Punjab Roadways Union, Jalandhar, will start a protest at the bus stand at 12 noon to press for their demands. The leaders of the Roadways Union say that government buses will not ply from any bus stand during the blockade. Various bus stands will remain closed. Traffic will also be blocked on the highway under the Rama Mandi flyover. No vehicle will be allowed to pass during this time.

Jalandhar Union President says that the employees are planning a strike this afternoon to press their demands. Earlier, they will gather under the Rama Mandi flyover and urge the government to consider other demands, including cancellation of the kilometer scheme tender. This strike will be held in all districts of Punjab. No specific time has been fixed for the strike in Jalandhar. If the government decides to cancel the tender by noon, a strike will be considered. The protest may continue indefinitely until the demands are met.
He said that a letter has been sent to the SSPs of all districts regarding Thursday’s strike. If the police take any action during this time, they will fight to the end. They have demanded that the government cancel the tender immediately and take appropriate action to replace the buses owned by the department.
