It should be informed that on last 8th December 2021, he attained martyrdom in a tragic helicopter accident near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. A total of 14 people including General Rawat’s wife were aboard this helicopter. Everyone died tragically in this. Even today, as the first CDS of the country, the country will always remember the courageous decisions taken by General Bipin Rawat for the security of the borders and the contribution made by him in keeping the morale of the armed forces always high.
