His car collided with a truck in Scanjano Jonono municipal area of ​​Matera city in Agri Valley on Saturday. According to the report of the news agency, the deceased have been identified as 34 -year -old Kumar Manoj, 33 -year -old Singh Surjeet, 31 -year -old Singh Harvinder and 20 -year -old Singh Jaskaran.

The Indian Embassy said in a post on social media, “The Indian Embassy expresses deep condolences on the tragic death of four Indian citizens in a road accident in Matera, South Italy.”

The Indian Embassy said, “We are in touch with local Italian officials to get the details. The embassy will provide all possible consular assistance to the families concerned. ”

The ANSA reported that the five injured were transferred to the hospital in Policoro (Matera), while the sixth and seriously injured man was transferred to Potenja’s San Carlo Hospital.
