A corruption case has started in Dhaka’s court against Bangladesh’s overthrow Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 17 others. The case is related to alleged irregularities in the allocation of housing plots, indicating a major judicial process against corruption in Bangladesh.

A corruption case began on Wednesday in a Dhaka court on Wednesday over alleged irregularities in the allocation of housing plots against 17 other people including Bangladesh’s outstanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her niece Azmina Siddiq and British MP Tulip Siddiq. According to The Daily Star report, the Assistant Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the complainant of the case, Afannan Jannat Kya, testified to the Special Judge Court-4 Judge Mohammad Rabiul Alam.

Earlier, in another corruption case, complainant and ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Salahuddin made his statement against 17 accused including Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and Tulip in the same court. Siddiq, who lives in London, was elected Parliament on the ruling Labor Party ticket from Hampasted and Highgate constituency in the British capital. He resigned from the post of minister earlier this year after the ACC investigation and corruption charges against the family. British politician Siddiq has denied the allegations.

He has accused the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh of launching a well -planned infamous campaign to harm his reputation. According to the news of the Bengali newspaper Prothom Alo, the process of recording the statement of witnesses in three other cases of alleged corruption in the hunger allocation on August 11 was also initiated. In these cases too, Hasina, her son Sajib Vajed Joy and daughter Saima Vajed Putul are accused. The anti -corruption body had registered six cases against Hasina, her family members and 23 others from January 12 to 14 for alleged irregularities in the allocation of plots under the Purvanchal New Town Project. Tulip is accused of using its impact to receive a plot for Rehana, Bobby and Ajmina.
