Sushila Karki Sarkar of Nepal has suspended the passports of former PM KP Sharma Oli and 4 others. This step was investigating Daman during the Gen-G movement. The commission was raised after recommendation. The list includes former Home Minister Ramesh writer, Home Secretary Gokaranmani Duwadi, Intelligence Department Head Hutraj Thapa and former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabi Rizal. They have been made mandatory to seek prior permission to leave Kathmandu. In the agitation on 8-9 September, 19 people died of police firing. The Money Laundering Department has started investigating the burnt notes received from the homes of leaders including Oli, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpakamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Energy Minister Deepak Khadka.

The protests of Jane-Z began on 8 September amid widespread resentment against the government’s ban on corruption and social media platforms. On the same day, the police opened fire on the protesters, resulting in at least 19 people killed and further unrest. By the end of two days of protests, the number of dead reached 75. The violent Daman played a direct role in removing Oli from the post of Prime Minister, soon Sushila Karki led the interim government. The new cabinet formed an inquiry commission on 21 September to check excessive force use by security agencies.

In his earlier statement after being removed from the post, Oli questioned the type of weapons used. The protesters were fired with automatic guns which were not with the police and demanded an inquiry into the case. These denials have come amid the increasing investigation of the actions taken by the government and police leaders during the protests.
