Former Pakistan fast bowler Shabbir Ahmed accused India of ball tampering in the fifth and final Test match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy played against England. Ahmed urged the ICC umpires to send the ball used by India for ‘lab testing’ on the fourth and fifth day of the final match of the series. This was not the first time a former Pakistani fast bowler has accused India of tampering with the ball’s position. During the 2023 ODI World Cup, when Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj had swinging the new ball more than any other new bowler in the tournament, former Pakistani cricketer Hasan Raza said that ICC is giving a “separate ball” to India.
