Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has once again moved from politics to his old professional career. He has made a comeback as Senior Advisor in Goldman Sachs. This is his first major appointment after the Conservative Party’s crushing election defeat in July 2024. According to the Times of India, after separating from politics, Sunak was active in social work through ‘Richmond Project’ with his wife Akshata Murthy. Sunak has announced to donate to this charity from Goldman Sachs.

He started his career in politics as a Member of Parliament in 2015. After the Conservative Party faced the worst defeat in last year’s general election, Sunak is still an MP from Richmond and Nortelarton constituency in Northern England. During the election campaign, he vowed to remain an MP for a full tenure of the next Parliament, regardless of the result of the voting.

His successor, Kir Starmer of Labor Party, can announce the next general election by mid -2029. Sunak first worked in Goldman as a summer trainee in investment banking in 2000, and then as an analyst from 2001 to 2004. He later co-established an investment firm working with companies internationally.
