Good news for Punjab farmers. The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bha Bhavwant Mann, has issued Rs 679.37 crore for the payment of sugarcanes for the year-old crust season. At the same time the purchase rate of Rs 401 per quintal sugarcane across the country is offered. This announcement has done by Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.
Cheema said that the 9 cooperative sugar mills of the state have been a total of 194.66 lakh quintals. This payment has benefited from the farmers to supply 18,771 across the state. He said that at the payment rate of Rs 401 per quintal, the total balance of farmers would be paid at the total balance in this regard.
Finance Minister said that more than 87 per cent pay payments have been made so far.
