Floods in Punjab have given a major joint to the power department. Flood has wreaked a heavy destruction in many areas of the state. With this flood, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has to bear heavy losses in their infrastructure. The greatest loss was held in Pathankot, the Hydil Power Project, which has been damaged by 62.5 crore alone.
According to the report total loss has reached Rs 1022.58 crore. These floods and desert came to the rivers on the daughter of the rain and Beas rivers, which signed the public infrastructure in water on the residential land
The report issued by PSPCL said that a total of 2322 transformers were damaged with Rs 23.22 crore. This transformer play a vital role in bringing high voltage power to the level of use of domestic and industry. The loss of this has changed the power supply of thousands of homes. 7114 The electrical pole flowed in floods that caused a loss of Rs 3.56 crore. On the other hand, the 864 km long conductor and power supply was destroyed by the wires of Rs 4.32 crore.
