A five -year -old child died in a leopard attack in a village in Gondia district of Maharashtra. The forest officer gave this information on Friday. The official said that the incident took place in Sanjaynagar village of Arjuni Morgaon tehsil under Gothangaon forest area early Thursday.
He said that a boy named Ansh Prakash Mandal had come out of the house with his grandmother, when a leopard attacked him and dragged him. The official said that the victim’s family and neighbors chased the leopard, but left the injured boy and fled into the forest.
He said that the boy was rushed to a government hospital, where he was declared dead. Angered by the incident, villagers demonstrated on Navegaonband-Kesori Road and some of them vandalized a forest officer’s car. Senior forest officials reached the spot and pacified the crowd.
