According to Israeli police and paramedic service head Magan David Adom, at least five people were killed and 15 others were injured in a bus shot by gunmen at a busy intersection in northern Jerusalem on Monday morning. The condition of six of the injured is said to be critical. The firing took place at a major intersection at the northern entrance of Jerusalem, which is on the roadside leading to Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem.

Two attackers killed
Israeli media reported that the two attackers boarded a bus before firing on the passengers. Police later said that both the attackers were killed, although their situation is not yet clear. In the attack footage, dozens of people are seen running from a bus stop at the busy intersection in the morning. Paramedics, who reached the spot, said that the area was in chaos and covered with a broken glass, people were injured and unconscious, on the road and pavement near the bus stop. So far no Palistinian militant group has taken responsibility for the attack.

The incident has occurred amid an increase in violence related to the war in Gaza, in which both Israel and the West coast of the occupied west coast are repeatedly clamping. Palestinian militants have firing and tightened, while the violence of settling against Palestinians has also intensified. Although there have been sporadic attacks in Israel in the last few months, the last deadly mass firing was attacked in October 2024, when two Palestinians on the west coast fired at the Tel Aviv region and opened fire at the Light railway station, killing seven people and many others were injured. Hamas’s military branch has taken responsibility for this attack.
