There is news of firing near the White House in America. At least 3 people have been injured in this firing, out of which 2 are members of the National Guard. The incident took place at 2.39 local time. Both the injured National Guard soldiers have been admitted to different hospitals.
The suspect was also injured in the retaliatory action of the police and he has been arrested. After the incident, heavy police force was deployed in the area and the entire area was sealed. Roads were closed. Many police cars and ambulances reached the spot and investigation teams became active.
People present on the other side said that within a few minutes, a large security cordon was made and no one was allowed to go near it. The FBI’s Washington Field Office said it is working with local law enforcement agencies to investigate the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, DC. He cannot share any additional information at this time due to the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not yet said what led to the shooting.
It is being told that the accused is a citizen of Afghanistan. The name of the suspect is said to be Rahmanullah Lakanwal. The initial investigation revealed that in 2021, USCIS had expedited the process of asylum applications for Afghan citizens under ‘Operation Alley’s Welcome’ and Lockenwall also entered the US using the same program. On the other hand, in this case the FBI will investigate like a terrorist attack.
