Firing on land dispute in UP: Revenue and police officer suspended

Five people were injured in a firing between two groups over land dispute in Amla tehsil of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh. Two revenue officers and two policemen have been suspended on charges of negligence in this case.

According to police sources, on Saturday afternoon, there was a firing in Rajpur Kala village of Aliganj police station area over land dispute. Suresh Pal Singh (60), Veeresh Pal (70), Anoop (16), Atul (30) and Rahul (25) were injured in this incident. He is being treated in the hospital.

Taking the incident seriously, the district administration suspended the revenue inspector and the local accountant for not informing senior officials on time about indiscipline and dispute.

Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya said that Aliganj sub-inspector Manoj Kumar and Head Constable Shahnawaz have also been suspended for not initiating proper action against both groups. Police said that seven people have been detained and investigation is on.
