On the complaint of the National Brahmin Federation, an FIR has been lodged on the director. The head of the organization, Pandit Neelkanth Tripathi, has said that the sentiments of the society have been hurt due to commenting on the Brahmin society in caste indecent language. On the complaint, the City Kotwali police of Raipur have registered a case under sections 196 and 302 of the Indian Justice Code against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

It is about promoting hatred among different groups on the basis of religion, caste, language etc. It also involves adverse effects in maintaining harmony. At the same time, Section 302 is related to the use of words, voice or signs etc. with the intention of deliberately hurting the religious feelings of a person.

Actually, a film has been made on the life of social reformers Jyotiba Phule and Savitri Bai Phule. Anurag Kashyap was enraged to postpone the release date of this film. The director used derogatory language against Brahmins. Due to this, people of Brahmin society across the country are complaining against Kashyap to the police.
