A peculiar comment on the flood of Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif is becoming very viral on social media. Asif suggested that the people of Pakistan should consider the flood as a ‘nater’ and keep the water filled in the tub till the dam is built. Asif’s remarks come at a time when Pakistan is struggling with severe floods due to the rivers in the midst of continuous rains. Talking to a Pakistani news channel, he said, “Those who are opposing the flood -like situation should take flood water to their homes. People should deposit this water in their homes, tubs and utensils. We should see this water as a boon and therefore submit it.

Asif also suggested that Pakistan should create a small catchment area which can be completed early to store water, as it usually takes 10 to 15 years to build the dams. Asif had earlier held India responsible for the flood. Khwaja Asif said that Pakistan is flooding due to India’s release of water. Officials say the disaster came due to unusually heavy monsoon rains that lasted for several weeks, which became worse due to the release of water from the rivers and dams in India last week. Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej rivers came out in spate at the same time, which submerged large parts of agricultural land and nearby villages.
