Famous Indian playback singer and Palash Muchhal’s sister Palak Muchhal on Monday spoke about the postponement of her brother Palash Muchhal’s wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana and requested fans and media to respect the family’s privacy.
For those who don’t know, the wedding of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal was to take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025. But, the marriage was postponed due to Critic’s father falling ill.
Palak Muchhal requests privacy after brother Palash’s wedding gets postponed
Palak Muchhal wrote on Instagram Stories, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the families’ privacy during this sensitive time.”

Apart from this, after Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding was postponed due to health emergency, the cricketer deleted all the pre-wedding pictures from his social media page, which indicated trouble.Smriti deleted the photos just as a woman shared some screenshots of her chat with Palash on her Instagram, leading netizens to believe that Palash was not completely loyal to Smriti in their relationship.

Wedding rituals begin
Friday: Wedding rituals began with music and haldi at a resort in Sangli on Saturday. In the video, the bride and groom were seen performing together on stage.
Sunday: Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were to get married in their hometown Sangli. It was attended by the entire Indian Women’s Cricket team as well as the groom’s family and friends, including his sister, singer Palak Muchhal.
Wedding postponed, Smriti’s father admitted to hospital
Sunday afternoon: News came that the wedding was postponed as Smriti’s father fell ill and was admitted to the hospital at the venue.
Sunday evening: Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, spoke to the media in Sangli and said, “Mr. Srinivas Mandanna was having breakfast when he fell ill. We called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He is under observation. Because Smriti is very close to her father, they decided that the wedding is postponed indefinitely until her father recovers.”
Palash returned to Mumbai, himself admitted to the hospital.
Sunday evening: The groom’s family returned to Mumbai from Sangli, where he was reportedly admitted to a hospital in Goregaon due to exhaustion and stress.
Sunday night: Speaking to Hindustan Times, Palash’s mother confirmed that the groom was admitted to hospital due to stress as he ‘kept crying for 4 hours’ after the wedding was postponed. “Palash is very attached to Smriti’s father… They are even closer than Smriti. When he fell ill, Palash, before Smriti, decided not to go ahead with the wedding rituals until he recovered,” said Palash’s mother Amita Muchhal.
Monday morning: Palash’s sister Palak Muchhal posted a statement on Instagram Stories about postponing the wedding. “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. You are all requested to respect the family’s privacy at this sensitive time,” he wrote.
Smriti Mandhana deleted all her engagement photos
Monday evening: Smriti Mandhana deleted all the photos and videos of her engagement and pre-wedding celebrations from her Instagram account. Her teammates, including her good friend Jemimah Rodrigues, who had posted videos of the ceremony, also deleted all such videos.
Neither Smriti and Palash have said anything yet on the postponement of their wedding, except statements from their manager and their sister. There is no update about when the wedding will take place. Smriti’s father is still under observation in a hospital in Sangli.
