Preneet Kaur Twitter: Member of Parliament from Patiala and former Minister of State for External Affairs Parneet Kaur raised the issue of giving more compensation to farmers for crop damage due to unseasonal rains in Punjab.

In a tweet here, the MP from Patiala urged Chief Minister Mann to give more compensation to farmers, saying, “After visiting my constituency and taking stock of the loss of wheat crop due to unseasonal rains, I have appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. We appeal to our farmers to compensate them at the rate of 30 thousand rupees per acre.”

Praneet Kaur further assured in her tweet that she will raise this matter with the central government as well, “I will also raise the matter of giving more compensation to the farmers with the central government.”

In a later statement, the Patiala MP added that he would also take up the issue of increased compensation with central government ministers as the Punjab government alone would not be able to bear the cost of these compensations and would require financial assistance.
